The equinoxes, according to the Maya knowledge, occur over a five-day period. During The Prophets Conference, taking place between March 15 & 22, 1999, the celebration and ceremony at the ancient Mayan sacred site of Chichen Itza will be on March 19. Elder Hunbatz Men, a highly respected author, daykeeper, ceremonial leader, and Mayan tradition shaman, gives us his calendar reading expressing the special significance of March 19, 1999 as follows:

The sacred Mayan calendars of the Haab and the Tzol K'in indicate the importance of March 19, 1999. In my Mayan calendar it is 13 Manik', 3 Uayeb, 12 Chichan. The Mayan interpretation is: 19 - 13 Cosmic being, universal being 19 - Manik' Purification, letting the energy of light cleanse our body and spirit March - 3 Understanding the sacred law of the trinity, thus knowing our real origin March - Uayeb Knowing to value our presence in the different dimensions 1999 Chichan Wisdom must be our banner of comportment before all circumstances On this important date, our hearts will throb in harmony with the heart of Mother Earth. Thus together we will be the heart of the sky in eternal harmonic movement. In this great cosmic palpitation we will be accompanied by the planets Venus, Saturn and Jupiter. All the inhabitants of the world will be in harmony when the great Father Sun presents to us His teachings. He will be accompanied by Sister Moon. Also the seven great stars of the Pleiades will accompany us in this sacred world initiation, where the seven forces of the body will be activated with the energies of the Pleiades and Father Sun and Mother Earth and all the planets created by Hunab K'u, the Mayan cosmic god who is the giver of movement and measure. The Mayan ceremonial centers help humanity in the purification process. These sacred Mayan centers are the cosmic transformers that humanity needs. When a human being meditates within these centers, the vibration produced helps to transform the initiate. When this occurs, the initiate has the obligation to understand the law of the trinity. For the Mayas of tradition it is Tepeu, Gugumatz and Huyub Caan. For the Hindus it is Brahma, Shiva, and Vishnu. For the Christians it is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. When we understand this law, we can understand our real origin. The wisdom provided in all that was mentioned before takes us to the true road of the initiated being, the road of cosmic solar light. On March 21, 1999, at noon, there will be a very interesting formation of planets. This formation, which can be seen in the drawing, includes in the celestial vault the Pleiades, the Moon, Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, the Sun and Mercury. These planets are frequently marked in the Maya codices and vessels, as well as on Maya stelae.

IN THIS MANNER THE TRADITIONAL MAYA PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THE PLANETS THAT WILL BE SEEN IN 1999:

TZEK’EB - PLEIADES, rattle of the cosmic serpent. It represents the seven Suns that are the brothers of our Sun. They govern us and are the seven great powers of the cosmos.

UC - LUNA, the forces of the liquids that govern Mother Earth. It represents the seven powers of the human being, the great feminine power that is awakening.

ELEK EK’ - VENUS, the planet Venus and the Earth are like twins. One part of us is there and the other here. Venus is our duality. When your body loses strength in its vital fluids and bones, seek Venus. Venus will help you. In the Venus-Earth harmony both planets coexist and provide each other balance. However, every eight years Venus strengthens the Earth.

AIN EK’ - SATURN, the great change that will bring the waters. Perhaps this coincides with what brother Drunvalo Melchizedek states of the eminent break of the ice of the south pole, which will cause the water of the sea to rise to a new level.

YAAX EK’ - JUPITER, the green that will emerge as life. It is probable that in these large changes that are approaching that the excess of water will create more vegetation.

K’IN - SUN, the solar era. People must again begin to incorporate the solar wisdom into their beings, for it is only in this manner that humanity can be saved. The information and formation of these planets will help in this solar initiation.
